BIOGRAPHY
Il mio nome è Florinda Cerrito.
Nasco come grafico e tecnico pubblicitario anche se la mia passione è da sempre l’illustrazione. Dopo il diploma all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo e un corso d Milano per grafica pubblicitaria e fotografia, ho lavorato per tanti anni come grafico e Art Director sia a Palermo che a Bologna e Barcellona (Spagna).
Con l’insegnamento la mia vita ha avuto una svolta non indifferente: creando storie scritte e illustrate, mi allontano definitivamente dalla grafica e dalla fotografia per dedicarmi alla illustrazione e alla sperimentazione grafico-pittorica. La pittura vera e propria, è arrivata negli ultimi anni con il progetto FLOW che si impone definitivamente riuscendo a esprimere finalmente la parte inconscia, più profonda di me stessa, la parte più libera e a colori della mia esistenza.
Hi, I am Florinda Cerrito, I am an artist and I first started on being a graphic designer even if my passion has always been the illustration.
After graduating from the Accademy of Fine Arts in Palermo, I took a course for advertising graphic and photography in Milan, then I worked many years as Graphic designer and Art Director in Palermo, Bologna (Italy) and Barcellona (Spain). With teaching my life has completely taken a turn: by creating written and illustrated stories I moved away from graphic and photography to dedicate myself to illustration and graphic-pittorial experimentation. The proper painting came with FLOW project which helps me on externate myself and pulling out the most free part of my unconscious.
Born only few years ago, FLOW project takes its name from a combination between the meanings of the English word “flow” and Florinda, my first name. The so-called memory-flow is a creative, unconscious, instinctive process that creates a state of well-being, even in cases where the original feelings have a negative basis. A mental condition in which time is static but creativity flows indefinitely, with no time and space limits.
This is what I live once ‘immersed in painting.
